Before joining the Climate Knowledge Collective (CKC), Soraya gained experience in youth mentorship, STEM education, and science communication. She designed STEM curricula to engage young girls in science and technology and served as a mentor with the First LEGO League Robotics program, fostering curiosity, problem-solving, and leadership among young learners. She has also worked in media outreach, producing a podcast for her school newspaper that explored issues affecting teenagers, including artificial intelligence, social media, education, and mental health.

As an undergraduate intern with the Climate Knowledge Collective (CKC), Soraya supports projects that advance environmental justice, science communication, and community-engaged climate research. She contributes to educational outreach and digital communications while exploring how emerging technologies can strengthen community-centered approaches to today’s environmental and public health challenges.
