Leio Koga is a researcher specializing in human rights and international relations, with a focus on gender, climate justice, and human security. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and a master’s degree in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action from Sciences Po Paris, where she specialized in Global Risks and the Middle East.

As a researcher with the Climate Knowledge Collective (CKC), Leio examines the intersections of gender, climate justice, and community knowledge. Her work includes oral history research documenting women climate leaders across Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America, with a particular interest in how storytelling preserves lived experience and elevates the contributions of women advancing environmental justice. She is especially interested in amplifying underrepresented voices and exploring the relationship between gender, human security, and climate resilience.

Leio plans to pursue a Ph.D. in International Relations, where she hopes to further investigate the connections among gender, international security, and climate change.
