Jannatul Ferdous Chowdhury Bushra is a sociologist and climate researcher whose work examines the intersections of population, environment, gender, and social inequality. She holds a master’s degree in Sociology from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), where her research explored the relationship between climate-induced livelihood insecurity and reproductive strategies in rural Bangladesh. Her academic work has also examined the socio-economic impacts of industrial transformation on peasant communities.

As a researcher with the Climate Knowledge Collective (CKC), Jannatul applies narrative analysis and feminist reflexive methodologies to investigate community-based climate adaptation. Her work on CKC’s oral history project explores how local climate activators navigate patriarchal systems, respond to slow environmental change, and develop locally grounded sustainability solutions. Her broader research interests include environmental justice, climate-induced displacement, global disparities in extreme weather mortality, and the role of community knowledge in advancing equitable climate action.
