Jamilah Christiansen is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology at Lehigh University. She earned her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of South Florida in 2025. Her research examines climate change, environmental justice, sustainability, political economy, and quantitative methods, with a particular focus on how governance, multinational corporations, international financial institutions, and other global organizations shape environmental conflict, public health, and sustainable development.

As a researcher with the Climate Knowledge Collective (CKC), Jamilah contributes her expertise in environmental sociology and social inequality to projects examining community-based climate adaptation and environmental justice. Her research explores the structural forces that influence local climate experiences while emphasizing the importance of community knowledge and lived experience in shaping equitable climate solutions. Through both her teaching and research, she is committed to empowering individuals to recognize and share the value of their own knowledge and to illuminate how personal experiences inform broader systems of inequality and social change.
